Electronics Engineer / PCB Developer

Planetary Transportation Systems GmbH is a German new-space company whose aim is to democratize access to space and bring down the cost of space exploration. Planetary Transportation Systems GmbH is a privately held company, and our goal is to show that it is possible to build a sustainable business in space exploration. As well as delivering cheaper and more regular opportunities for academics, industry and educational institutions to conduct in-space research, we are keen to develop the infrastructure required for future settlement on the Moon and beyond.


Your Tasks

– Development of highly reliable PCBs

  • Specification
  • Part selection
  • Schematics
  • Layout
  • Production

– Interaction with PCB manufacturers/assemblers

  • Testing of prototype PCBs
  • Post-production tests of PCBs
  • Documentation of development results
  • Participation in and organization of tests required for space qualification of electronics hardware


Your Profile

– At least 5 years experience in PCB design

– KiCad experience

  • Multilayer PCBs
  • SMD technology
  • Checking of design rules
  • Design of PCBs comprising FPGAs, SOCs, modern microcontrollers or DDR RAM

– Experience with the processes required for

  • ordering PCBs
  • interaction with PCB assemblers

– Experience with manufacturing of prototypes

– Good ability to work as a team, reliability, flexibility and commitment

– Good English speaking and writing skills

– Bonus:

  • Aerospace experience
