(Junior) Systems Engineer (f/m/d)

We are a New Space company based in Berlin and we are part of the Zeitfracht Group. We are developing space vehicles, rovers and infrastructure for the Moon. Our goal is to make space exploration accessible to new customer groups by reducing mission costs and developing reusable space-based infrastructures. PTS cooperates with a number of industrial partners and space organisations, such as the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the European Space Agency (ESA).

The Position:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to help support the system-level development of PTS’ lunar lander, ALINA. To further the development of the spacecraft, you will complete work packages by yourself or in a team, manage project teams, and participate in R&D projects. Personal initiative and creative problem solving to tackle challenges are highly welcomed.

The secondary task of this position is the support of the agency proposal team. You will be involved in the preparation of technical documentation for proposals to national space agencies (ESA, NASA, DLR) and help with the resulting contract work. Specific tasks could include, for example, working on ESA projects such as feasibility studies for In-Situ Resource Utilisation on the Moon, landing leg development, and increasing the TRL of critical technologies. You will be the technical interface between the customer and the technical team as well as a vital part of the company’s project management.


 Your work will include:

  • Review and preparation of technical documentation for Invitations To Tender (ITTs) from national space agencies.
  • Definition, review and control of technical requirements
  • Review and control of technical budgets
  • Project management
  • Preparation and giving of presentations
  • Preparation and operation of software tools for resolution of technical problems
  • Supporting trade-offs studies for mission concepts and spacecraft subsystems



  • Master’s degree in in a scientific-technical field, e.g. systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar
  • Basic knowledge of spacecraft engineering and systems engineering, as well as knowledge of subsystem interfaces and their influence on system level
  • Solid documentation skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
  • Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Proficiency in the English language (spoken and written)


Nice to haves:

  • Skills in programming (e.g. MATLAB, Python, VBA)
  • Experience in project work and product development
  • Proficiency in the German language (spoken and written)
